Hello All,

It’s been a month since the Festival and we at Maryland Thespians are busy debriefing and starting to plan for next year! We wanted to wrap up a few loose ends, let you all know about a few changes and - most importantly - invite you to be a part of the Maryland Thespians journey by sharing your experiences and maybe even joining the board to help plan for the future!

“The Changing of the Guard”

Several of our board members are moving on after many years of service and we would like to thank them for how freely they have given of their time and talents, making a difference, and touching the lives of so many. Sean Elias, Allen Price, and River Hansen have all made significant contributions to Maryland Thespians. Their dedication, experience, and camaraderie on the board will be missed.

To serve the remaining two years of these four-year terms, the board has appointed Guy Barbato as Chapter Director, Heidi Temple as Assistant Chapter Director, and Nicholle D’Anna as STO Coordinator.

Virtual Board Meeting - All Are Invited!

On Sunday, March 5, we will be holding a virtual meeting for all Troupe Directors who would like to meet the board and share their experiences from Festival. The meeting is open to all from 1-2pm and we will have a session from 2-3pm for anyone who might be interested in joining the board and helping plan for next year! Areas Where We Could Use New Leadership

• Marketing, Social Media, and Chapter Communication

• Donor, Sponsor and Vendor Outreach / Organization

• Coordinating with Colleges / Scholarships

• Technical Production Team - Including One Act Coordination and Tech Challenge etc.

• Organizing and Communicating with Volunteers

• Financial Records Keeping (Experience with QuickBooks is helpful, but not required.)

Did Someone say Festival 2024?!

The School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland was an amazing host this year, sharing the outstanding facilities at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and granting twelve (12) of the many scholarships awarded - including three (3) “Full-Ride” Scholarships.

While there are many details yet to be worked out, we have already “penciled-in” a tentative return date of January 12-13, 2024. Nothing is set in stone, and we will keep you all posted, but we hope to provide you with more frequent updates this year as plans develop and begin to take shape.
