STOs serve as the voice for the entire student membership of Maryland Thespians. They are appointed by members of the Chapter Board of Maryland Thespians after reviewing all applications. STOs advocate for the needs of the state's thespians and bring new ideas and recommendations to the State Board of Directors. They also provide leadership training, run workshops, sponsor student-oriented functions, and raise funds at the Maryland State Thespian Festival.
