Updates for Junior Thespian Troupes and Middle School Theatre Teachers

• The schedule for our first Junior Thespian Festival is on the website www.MarylandThespians.org/schedule. The Junior Festival is Thursday only.

• Schools will need to bring their own lunches. (Tip: most school cafeterias / food services can do bag lunches for Field Trips, if you give them enough notice!)

• Just for the sake of transparency - the UMD Dining Halls could not accommodate us for Thursday lunch, so the $50 Junior registration price ($35 for TD / Chaperones) is what we calculated should cover all other expenses, not including lunch.

• We can look at other lunch options for 2025 etc., if we have enough interest, but decided that a packed-lunch model would be easiest for this year and has been successful for Junior events in other states.

• We will have a session for Troupe Events, including things like Trash Costumes, Speed Charades etc. but they will not be registered through the system like we do for High School. We will send out more information once we have attendee numbers etc.

• Thespys are virtual this year and each student can perform up to 2 Thespys (from different categories). After registering a student for a Thespy, the Director can upload their video (in .mp4 format) anytime before November 17.

• Middle School and High School registration is separate this year. If you are responsible for both, you will need two different registration accounts with two different emails. (If your current account is the wrong type, it will need to be changed on the back-end; just let us know and we can help.) info@marylandthespians.org
