Hello All,

As many of you are busy returning to the classroom and/or preparing for a new season, we wanted to take a moment to say “Thank You” and “Welcome Back!” The work that you do with young people all over the state is so vitally important and we truly cannot express the gratitude we feel to have so many exceptional theatre educators and artists in our community. Below you will find some important updates and a brief survey (with FREE Maryland Thespians Gear as an incentive!).

FREE MD Thespians Gear Available!

The Board of Maryland Thespians, with 3 new members, wants to hear from you! We are quickly approaching the opening of Registration (September 1) for the 2024 Maryland Thespians Festival at the University of Maryland, College Park. Today’s email provides information for you, but we are also hoping to get some information from you.

Hearing from you is so important that we are offering free MD Thespians swag to anyone who participates in the survey. If you are a Maryland High School Theatre Troupe Director (one per school unless you have a registered co-sponsor), please complete the survey by August 28th to be eligible for your FREE MD Thespians Sweatshirt. 

Baltimore’s CenterStage Opening Nights

We have also been invited to be part of Baltimore’s CenterStage Opening Nights this year. This means one FREE ticket for you to the opening night of each of their shows. If you are interested, there is a form below for you to fill out and provide your contact information. We would love to gather together at these events as a means of socializing and rejuvenating our own spirits :)

Important Festival 2024 Updates

Below is the latest information about the upcoming 2024 Maryland Thespian Festival at the University of Maryland on January 12 and 13, 2024. We are also working on updating the website (www.marylandthespians.org) for 2024, but may have missed some things.

Please be sure to read through the information provided regarding deadlines for registration for festival and the changes in Thespys. If you have any questions about festival, after reading through the attached information, please feel free to reach out at info@marylandthespians.org.

This year we will also be hosting a separate Junior Thespians Festival for Middle School Students on January 11th. More information about the format and how to register will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, please reach out to the Middle School colleagues in your county to let them know about this exciting opportunity and have them contact us with any questions at info@marylandthespians.org.
