Updates about Registration and One Acts

Our registration deadline of November 17th is rapidly approaching. All student “events” must be registered in the system by November 17th. This includes One Acts, Thespys, Troupe Events, College Auditions/Scholarships, Awards etc.
We will hold the registration window open until December 1st for additional students to attend the festival, but they will not be able to be registered for any “events” after November 17th. November 17th is a firm deadline for all student events: One Acts, Thespys, Troupe Events, College Auditions/Scholarships, Awards etc.

To allow a little extra time for our students to prepare and film their Thespys, you can upload their video to the registration system up until December 1st, as long as it was registered by November 17th.
After you register a student for a Thespy, you can leave the site and come back later to upload the video.
Please note: Students may elect to compete in up to two Thespys, as long as they are from different categories. For duet/group Thespys, all students must be from the same school/troupe.

All spots for One Acts are now filled.
If you completed the Google Form but have not registered in the registration system, you must do so by November 17th, or your spot may be given away to a school on the waiting list.’
If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email production@marylandthespians.org
Please note that the session and performance space that you are currently assigned may change as we reconcile the master schedule.

Troupe Banners are 3'x5', hanging vertically, and for $30 you can purchase your very own in the Registration system, under “Services”.
Once you add that service in registration, just send us a logo file with a min 978x1084px, that is <15MB. (example below)

After registering student(s) for a Thespy by November 17th, you can upload their video to the registration system anytime before December 1st (Both Performance and Tech Thespy submission must be in .mp4 format.)

Thespy submissions should not contain significant video editing. For example, in the solo acting category, both monologues must be performed, back-to-back, in one take etc.
However, Tech Thespys may use “Zoom” recording, and/or screencast software etc. to best display / present their portfolio.

Please carefully review all Thespy Rules and Rubrics with your students. They can be found on Thespys.org.
Pay particular attention to the Rights & Licensing section and the Thespys Red- & Green-Light Lists found therein.
