We are so excited to offer this awesome new event to our festival line up. Experimental Theatre is an awesome opportunity for your students to stretch their creative muscles. Each piece will be adjudicated and then workshopped with the adjudicator. We are looking for your students to present their original plays either performed on stage or presented as readers theatre, devised theatre, or social justice pieces that are a minimum of 20 minutes and not to exceed a maximum of 30 minutes. These pieces can be either student or teacher directed but must be approved by the Troupe Director. Since the event will be held in the Dance Studio Theatre with an installed Marley floor, there are restrictions in regards to set pieces, props, etc that can be used.

Cost: $25

We all need a break during festival and we have devised a schedule that provides 2-hour lunch and dinner breaks for students to rest and recharge. Teachers please monitor your students’ activities and assist them in finding workshops and/or events that interest them. Last year there were a multitude of students just hanging out on their phones and/or wandering around in unauthorized areas of the building. We have also been asked by Towson University for teachers to remind students that students should not be found on the third floor of the building. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping your students engaged in workshops and events at the festival.

Please make sure your students are aware of the rule changes for the 2019/2020 IE’s especially in regards to obtaining rights to perform their titles. In the IE Guide provided they will find crucial information regarding their specific events and material they can and cannot use. In addition, all students must wear all black including their shoes (NO white and/or colored soled black shoes or black shoes with white or colored stripes can be worn).
