The Honor Troupe distinction recognizes troupes with tremendous achievements both within their school and their community and who maintain a high level of excellence, both on and off stage. There is no limit to the number of troupes that can apply each year.

The application process includes completing the application below and a submission of a portfolio highlighting the positive impact your troupe has made within their school and local community. Items you may include in your portfolio include:

For Theatre Production: Evidence can include programs, posters, tickets, renderings, and/or photos.
For Community Service: Evidence can include written descriptions with photographs, letters, and/or articles.
For Participation: Evidence can include programs, registrations, and/or photos.
For Theatre Outreach: Evidence can include programs and/or photos.

In addition all Troupes must present evidence that they have met the following Maryland State Thespian Standards

Official Thespian Inductions
Clear Thespian Point System
Conduct Regular Meetings with Attendance
Payment of your EdTA Renewal Dues
Attendance at the Maryland State Thespian Festival

All evidence should be compiled into one single PDF no larger than 10MB. Portfolios will be submitted online via the application below and will be reviewed by the Maryland Thespians Board of Directors. Awards will be presented at the Maryland State Thespian Festival held at Towson University. A certificate will be given to each school along with a letter addressed to their principal celebrating this monumental achievement. A plaque may be ordered as well to commemorate the occasion.

Honor Troupe applications should highlight work and achievements made in the last completed academic school year. All applications must be received by November 1, 2019.
